"At least you had a prime! I had no prime, I had nothin'! "

Picture
John G. Avildsen and Sylvester Stallone's 1976 film ,Rocky, tells the story of a debt collector in Philadelphia who makes it to the world heavyweight championships. This film won three Oscars and had the highest gross income of all films in 1976. Sylvester Stallone, the writer of Rocky, played the lead role of the ultimate fighter. He, at first, had apprehensions about having a "fresh face" as his film's lead role, but later stated that he would not be able to forgive himself if any other person had acted as Rocky Balboa. This inspired other film producers and directors to let new actors and actresses play as their film's heroes and heroines. Though this film is not considered to be an influential film of the seventies, its success set a new precedent for movies that were later released.
